Medical Technologist
Gago Center for Fertility
I analyzed biological samples using microscopic techniques
to assess sperm concentration, motility, and morphology,
providing fertility data to patients. I was also responsible
for washing male specimen samples with centrifugation or separation
devices to isolate the highest quality sperm for intrauterine
insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF), improving the
chances of successful pregnancy.
Additionally, I processed over 200
blood tests weekly to measure hormone levels in female patients, using
immunoassay devices to monitor and provide insights into their pregnancy cycles.
Molecular Technologist
Great Lakes Medical Laboratory
I conducted over 800 routine medical tests daily, using extraction and
purification techniques to accurately analyze and detect various diseases,
including COVID-19, Influenza A/B, and STIs. I also contributed to the
development and implementation of new medical panel tests, providing valuable
data to expand the laboratory’s testing capabilities. Additionally, I identified
operational inefficiencies and created three new standard operating procedures
in the first quarter of 2021 to enhance reliability and improve efficiency.
Research and Development Scientist
Archer Daniels Midland
I provided subject matter expertise by conducting independent
research on lecithin's thermal stability and shared key findings
with the emulsification lab to support further research. I assisted
the R&D emulsifier manager with over 10 research projects, ensuring
timely completion while building my knowledge base on lecithin products
and their applications. Additionally, I conducted routine functionality
testing of lecithin products to ensure accurate, reproducible data,
helping resolve customer complaints in 2020.
Organic Laboratory Assistant
Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy
I prepared over 200 soil samples daily, using extraction and sonication techniques to
efficiently extract organic compounds for analysis by chemists. I ensured 100% accuracy
in data processing by conducting rigorous quality control and reviewing reports from
environmental instruments. Additionally, I maintained and calibrated instruments daily
to ensure their accuracy and precision.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Michigan State University Department of Chemistry
I expressed TEV protease from a bacterial genome using cloning techniques, producing the
protease on time for graduate students to use as a genomic marker in their research without
delays. I documented the research in a scientific journal and presented the findings
through poster presentations to showcase its significance. Additionally, I assisted three
graduate students with their projects, broadening my knowledge of bacterial and molecular
techniques applied in research settings.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Cypress Home Care
As a CNA, I provided comprehensive care to a brain-injured and a paraplegic patient,
assisting with all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, mobility, and
feeding. I also offered emotional support and companionship, fostering a compassionate
and supportive environment to enhance the patient's overall well-being and quality of life.
My role involved ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity while maintaining close
communication with medical staff to monitor and address any health concerns.
